This course provides a foundation of the basic principles of nutrition and its impact on health promotion and maintenance, disease and injury prevention, and illness management. Topics include the basics of nutrition, macronutrients, micronutrients, phytonutrients, and wellness. The interrelationship between nutrition, food, the environment, and the related impact on health will be emphasized.
