Library Services

Reference Services/Literature Searches

The librarian is available to assist with locating information and for instruction on how to use library resources. The librarian is available in person, by email or Teams, or by phone for consultations.

Borrowing Materials

All students have borrowing privileges. Students are personally responsible for the safety, proper use, and timely return of all library materials. Fines may be charged for lost or damaged library materials. Books and journals may be checked out for three (3) weeks and can be renewed if not needed by another student. Reference resources, new journal issues, and bound journals do not circulate and must be used in the library space. Anatomical models located in the library space may not be removed from the library and may not be checked out.

Interlibrary Loan

Students may request materials that the Hendrickson Library does not own by filling out an Interlibrary Loan request form. This form is found on the library website or from within a database search. Most requests are filled within 2-3 days; however, it is advisable to allow 1 week. Articles will be emailed to a student’s Bellin College email. Other items interlibrary loaned, like books, will need to be picked up in the library. Checkout periods are set by the lending library.

Computers/Laptops

Students may use the computers or laptops located in the library. Students are expected to understand and comply with the College policies regarding use of the internet and email. Failure to comply with these policies may result in consequences up to and including dismissal from the College. When using a College computer, students should use a jump drive to save any data. Students may also save information on their College-assigned H: drive. Installing programs or changing computer settings is prohibited.

Printing/Photocopying

Printers for student use at the Resch location are in the library, first floor student lounge, and lower-level lounge and at the Van Asten location in the first floor student study area and library. Enrolled students receive a credit for printing at the start of their first semester and each August provided they are enrolled in a program. Unused credits will roll over to subsequent years. Students needing additional credits can purchase them in the One Stop Shop. Printing credits cannot be returned or refunded. Call the One Stop Shop at 920-433-6699 for details.

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. This provision also applies to copying, downloading, and uploading of documents from the internet.

Group Study Rooms

The library has 2 study rooms available for student use at the Resch Campus and one study room at the Van Asten Campus. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Rooms must be kept clean, and users are responsible for their personal property. Each room has whiteboards and TV/DVD player if needed. Groups exhibiting loud or disruptive behavior will be asked to leave.
