This course emphasizes professional issues relevant to the career of the physical therapist. Principles covered in Professional Foundations I are further developed specific to the individual career goals and personal mission of each student physical therapist. Additional topics include specialization within the field of physical therapy, personal branding, burnout, lifelong learning, cultural competency teaching, leadership, service, health policy and health systems science. The student will be exposed to advocacy at the national, state, and local level and will develop a plan for lifelong learning post-graduation.
