Withdrawal Date Determination for Non-Attendance

In accordance with Section 668.22 of the Higher Education Act, the withdrawal date for a student who ceases attendance at Bellin College prior to the end of an enrollment period (i.e., semester) will be:

  • The date, as determined by the College, that the student began the withdrawal process prescribed by the College policy.
  • The date, as determined by the College, that the student otherwise provided official notification to the institution or its representative, in writing or orally, of his or her intent to withdraw.
  • The mid-point of the enrollment period if the student ceases to attend without providing official notification to the College of his or her intent to withdraw unless the College can document the student’s last date of attendance at an academically related activity.   • The date the College determines is associated with the circumstance, if the student failed to provide official notification of the intent to withdraw due to illness, accident, grievous personal loss, or other such circumstance beyond the student’s control.
