CPR certification must be from the American Heart Association(AHA) – Healthcare Provider/ Basic Life Support (infant/child/adult).
Students will be trained at the College using the RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement) system. Students will complete the initial prep course for RQI. On a quarterly calendar basis (January- March, April -June, July- September and October to December), students will be required to complete the ongoing curriculum to verify competence of skills and knowledge. With each quarterly renewal, students will begin a new 2-year cycle of certification from the American Heart Association. Students must show proof of CPR certification by uploading, both the AHA and the RQI e-card into Viewpoint. Noncompliance may result in the student’s removal from clinical placement(s) and inability to progress in the program.
